To save you the work, the plugin creates them for you on activation and selects them in settings automatically. You only need to step in if you want different titles, slugs or layouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What gets created on activation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On first activation NiroHelp creates these pages and selects them in <strong>NiroHelp \u2192 Settings<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th>Page<\/th><th>Shortcode<\/th><th>Where it is selected<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>Docs<\/td><td><code>[nirohelp_docs]<\/code><\/td><td>Documentation \u2192 Pages \u2192 Docs archive page<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>My Tickets<\/td><td><code>[nirohelp_tickets]<\/code><\/td><td>Tickets \u2192 Pages \u2192 My Tickets page<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Submit a Ticket<\/td><td><code>[nirohelp_new_ticket]<\/code><\/td><td>Tickets \u2192 Pages \u2192 New Ticket page<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All three are published pages with comments and pingbacks closed. They are created whichever modules you have on, so a docs-only site still gets the two ticket pages &#8211; delete them if you do not want them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The installer never duplicates work:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If a setting already points at a live page, it is left alone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If a page already exists containing the matching shortcode, that page is adopted instead of a second one being created.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So deactivating and reactivating, or installing on a site you had already set up by hand, will not leave you with duplicate pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The other three shortcodes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three more shortcodes exist that the installer does <strong>not<\/strong> create a page for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th>Shortcode<\/th><th>What it renders<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td><code>[nirohelp_login_form]<\/code><\/td><td>The login form on its own. It is already shown inside the My Tickets and Submit a Ticket pages for logged-out visitors, so a page of its own is optional.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><code>[nirohelp_all_tickets]<\/code><\/td><td>The full ticket queue, for agents who work from the front end. Select the page under <strong>Tickets \u2192 Pages \u2192 All Tickets page<\/strong> if you use it.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><code>[nirohelp_code]<\/code><\/td><td>A syntax-highlighted code block, used inside a doc rather than on a page of its own. See <a href=\"https:\/\/nirohelp.com\/docs\/knowledge-base\/code-blocks-and-images\/\">Code blocks and images<\/a>.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Renaming or replacing the auto-created pages<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are ordinary WordPress pages. You can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rename them \u2014 <em>Documentation<\/em> instead of <em>Docs<\/em>, say \u2014 under <strong>Pages<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Change their slug, parent or template like any other page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Replace them entirely: make your own page containing the relevant shortcode, then pick it again in <strong>NiroHelp \u2192 Settings<\/strong> under <strong>Documentation<\/strong> or <strong>Tickets<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These settings do two jobs beyond pointing at a page. Notification emails build their links from them, and <strong>the docs page&#8217;s slug becomes the first part of every doc address<\/strong>. Renaming that page&#8217;s slug from <code>docs<\/code> to <code>help<\/code> moves your whole knowledge base &#8211; see <a href=\"https:\/\/nirohelp.com\/docs\/knowledge-base\/doc-urls\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Doc URLs<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Add the pages to your menu<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most themes have an <strong>Appearance \u2192 Menus<\/strong> screen. Add the new pages to your main menu so visitors can find them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What if a page is not selected?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The plugin still works, but ticket emails fall back to your home page when they need to send a client to their ticket, and doc addresses fall back to the default.
