No chat<br \/>\nhistory is stored on your site.<\/p>\n<h2>Per tab, and gone when the tab closes<\/h2>\n<p>The current conversation, and up to 20 previous ones from the same visit, live<br \/>\nin the browser tab. <strong>Closing the tab clears all of it.<\/strong> A returning visitor<br \/>\nstarts with an empty chat.<\/p>\n<h2>Why not keep them longer<\/h2>\n<p>The chatbot is for questions in the moment. Keeping conversations for days puts<br \/>\nthe visitor&#8217;s history on their disk, needs an &#8220;are you sure you want to clear<br \/>\nthis?&#8221; screen, and tempts the widget into showing stale context back to the AI.<br \/>\nSession-only storage avoids all three.<\/p>\n<h2>The &#8220;+ New&#8221; button<\/h2>\n<p>Inside the panel the visitor can click <strong>+ New<\/strong> to file the current<br \/>\nconversation away and start fresh. Filed conversations move into a list, capped<br \/>\nat 20, and clicking any of them opens it again for re-reading. They vanish with<br \/>\nthe tab like everything else.<\/p>\n<h2>What the AI service receives<\/h2>\n<p>Each question sends:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The question itself.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Up to the last 10 turns<\/strong> of the current conversation, so follow-ups make<br \/>\n  sense.<\/li>\n<li>Your site key.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The full address of the page the visitor is on<\/strong>, so the bot can answer<br \/>\n  &#8220;where am I?&#8221;. Note that this includes anything after the <code>?<\/code> \u2014 if your page<br \/>\n  addresses carry an identifier, that identifier is sent too.<\/li>\n<li>Your agent name, avatar, support email and ticket link, so the bot can offer<br \/>\n  them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The service logs the question, the answer, how relevant it judged the answer,<br \/>\nand the cost. <strong>It does not log the visitor&#8217;s address, browser fingerprint or<br \/>\nanything that would identify them across visits.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Reading the logs<\/h2>\n<p><strong>NiroHelp \u2192 AI \u2192 Chatbot \u2192 View logs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>That screen has no data yet.<\/strong> The AI service does not offer the log feed, so<br \/>\nthe screen reports the service&#8217;s error rather than a list. This is on the<br \/>\nservice side, not something wrong with your site.<\/p>\n<h2>Clearing a visitor&#8217;s chat<\/h2>\n<p>There is no button for it, and there is rarely a reason \u2014 closing the tab does<br \/>\nthe same thing.
