What comes across
- Every article
- Titles, slugs, full content, excerpts and dates, as ordinary WordPress posts.

What doesn't: Doc tags, BetterDocs' layout settings, page-builder templates and sidebar widgets, and the rest of its analytics — views, searches and neutral reactions — stay where they are. NiroHelp has its own equivalents to set up once, and your BetterDocs install keeps all of it until you choose to remove it.
Four steps, about ten minutes
Keep BetterDocs activated while this runs — NiroHelp reads from it, and the Migrate button stays greyed out if it can't find it.
Install NiroHelp
Add it from your dashboard and activate it. Leave BetterDocs switched on.
Open the Migration tab
NiroHelp → Settings → Migration. BetterDocs shows up as detected, with its Migrate button enabled.
Click Migrate
It imports in batches in the background. A progress panel keeps count — you can close the tab.
Check and go live
Review your articles, choose a URL structure, then point your menus at the new Docs page.
Why it's safe to just try it
Run it on staging, or run it twice — the import never changes BetterDocs. Deleting the old copies is a separate step you take when you're ready.
BetterDocs is only read
The import copies content across. Nothing in BetterDocs is edited, moved or deleted.
Safe to run twice
Already-imported articles are marked and skipped on the next run.
Clean up when you’re ready
Once you've checked the import, Clean deletes BetterDocs's copies — after asking — and keeps every NiroHelp copy.

After the import
Four things to check before you switch your menus over.
Pick your URL structure
Choose the structure closest to your old BetterDocs URLs, then redirect anything that changed so search results keep working.
Put things in order
Drag your topics and articles into reading order on the Topics and Docs screens, so the knowledge base reads the way you intend.
Run a Sync if you are on Pro
That pushes your newly imported articles into the AI index, so the chatbot and auto-responder can answer from them.
Update your menus and links
Point your site navigation at the new Docs page, and check any hardcoded links in your theme or footer.
FAQ
Questions about switching
No — the opposite. Leave BetterDocs activated while the import runs, because NiroHelp reads directly from it. The Migrate button stays disabled until it detects BetterDocs is present. Once the import is finished and you have checked the results, you can deactivate BetterDocs whenever you like.
Not automatically — NiroHelp has its own URL settings, with several structures to choose from. Pick the one closest to your BetterDocs setup in Settings, and add redirects for anything that still differs. Do this before you point your menus at the new pages.
Nothing breaks. Every imported article is marked with where it came from, so a second run skips anything already brought across. This is what makes it safe to re-run after adding a few more BetterDocs articles.
Clean is for after you have checked the import. It permanently deletes the BetterDocs articles that came across, along with all of BetterDocs' categories and tags, and keeps every NiroHelp copy. It asks before it runs; take a backup first, because there is no undo.
Yes. Articles come across as ordinary WordPress posts with their content, so images, headings, lists and formatting carry over. Code blocks get syntax highlighting and images get click-to-zoom in NiroHelp.
Your happy and sad totals come across as helpful and not-helpful votes on each article. The rest — views, search terms and the day-by-day history — stays in BetterDocs, because it is stored in its own format and NiroHelp has nowhere equivalent to put it.
The chatbot and the ticket auto-responder are Pro features. The knowledge base, the ticket system, and this migration are all in the free plan on WordPress.org — so you can complete the whole switch before deciding about the AI.
